What is PU Plastis?

PU plastic is Polyurethane (PUR/PU), it is a polymer composed of organic units joined by carbamate (urethane) links. Polyurethane polymers are traditionally and most commonly formed by reacting a di- or polyisocyanate with a polyol. Both the isocyanates and polyols used to make polyurethanes contain, on average, two or more functional groups per molecule. Casting Polyurethane PU Sheets and PU Rods.

While most polyurethanes are thermosetting polymers that do not melt when heated, thermoplastic polyurethanes are also available.

Polyester PU Plastis

Density: 1,2g/cm³

Hardness: 88-92A

Polyether PU Plastis

Recovery: 28%

Compression Deformation: 45%

Akron Wear Loss: 0,6±2

It has better temperature and hydrolysis resistance than Polyester PU, but its oil resistance and mechanical properties are slightly poor.

PU Sheet Plastic

PU Sheet is with excellent in anti-abrasion and high elasticity. There are different thickness and size. Their mainly function is to reduce pressure. Pu Sheet is widely used as Cushion, Anti-Pressing and Heavy Load parts.

Markets and Applications: Major markets for cast polyurethane shapes include: automotive, aerospace, electronics, defense, power presses/dies, mining, paperboard, material handling, metal finishing, pulp and paper, oil and gas, automated filling plants and railroad.

Some typical applications include: Arc shield in railroad cars, replacing fiberglass parts which exhibited frequent and premature breakage resulting in excessive maintenance costs.

Gaskets and seals, replacing synthetic rubbers when a combination of chemical resistance and outstanding toughness are required for specialty applications. Custom seals can generally be made using relatively low cost tooling.

Cutter bars in paperboard plants, replacing UHMW-PE cutter bars which often needed replacing.

Wheels for carts and trolleys in automotive and other manufacturing plant use, replacing rubber. Polyurethane wheels have higher load bearing capacity and roll easier. The figure below shows the spectrum of the wide range of hardness values and a few examples of applications.
