How to Use Thread Seal Tape
B1: Clean the threads to remove any dirt, grease or pipe dope. You may need a commercial strength pipe cleaner depending on what has come in contact with the pipe.
B2: Dry the threads with a paper towel. Get in between the threads to remove all water from the threaded end. Alternatively, allow the pipe to air-dry thoroughly.
B3: Wrap the tape around the threads, applying it in the same direction as the threads. This is important because you don't want to be loosening or bulging the tape when screwing in the connecting piece.
B4: Cut the tape and press the tape end against the threads.
