What is A Globe Valves ?

• A globe valve is an instrument used to stop and/or control the flow of fluids in a pipeline. It works by halting the flow of a fluid through a pipe. The name globe comes about due to the valve’s cylindrical shape. There are usually two halves of the body within the globe valve that are separated by an internal baffle.
• Even though globe valves exhibit more pressure drops than gate valves, you can use them where the pressure drop via the valve is a non-controlling factor. Another name for globe valves is throttle valves when they are used for throttling purposes.

Advantages of Globe Valves

• - It is simple structure, so the valve is easy to install and maintain during use.
• - Globe valves have high durability, less wear, and damage because when the valve is fully opened, the valve disc is isolated from the fluid.
• - The handwheel system directly presses the valve disc and the valve gate in the right direction, so when the valve is completely closed, the globe valve is less likely to leak fluid than other types of valves.
• - Time to open and close the valve quickly, due to the shorter stroke than the gate valve, it is easy to have a convenient valve.
• - Globe valve has the ability to regulate the flow of the flow very well, the ability to open and close the valve.

Disadvantages of Globe Valves

• - Weight and size are usually larger than other valves of the same size and pressure.
• - The pressure when passing the valve is reduced due to flow redirection in the valve body.
